About Prof. Bijayendra Singh

Prof. Bijayendra Singh is an award-winning Consultant Upper Limb Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Kent, with over 30 years of experience. He specialises exclusively in the management of shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions. He has performed one of the largest numbers of shoulder joint replacements in the country and is recognised for his expertise in complex upper limb surgery.

Prof. Singh holds FRCS (Tr & Ortho), PG Dipl (T&O), FRCS, MS (Ortho) and DNB (Ortho) qualifications and is board-certified in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery. He is committed to providing timely, evidence-based care for all referred patients.

Private Referrals

For private patient referrals, please send a referral letter addressed to Prof. Bijayendra Singh and contact the practice team directly. Patients may self-fund or use private medical insurance. We accept all major insurance providers including Bupa, AXA PPP, Vitality, Aviva, and WPA.

Shoulder Pain & Conditions

Rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, shoulder impingement, shoulder arthritis, instability/dislocation, acromioclavicular joint problems, proximal humerus fractures.

Elbow Pain & Conditions

Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, elbow arthritis, ulnar nerve entrapment, elbow instability, distal biceps tendon ruptures, elbow fractures.

Hand & Wrist Problems

Carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytren's contracture, wrist arthritis, ganglion cysts, scaphoid fractures, thumb base arthritis, De Quervain's tenosynovitis.

Sports Injuries

Acute and chronic sports-related upper limb injuries including ligament sprains, tendon injuries, dislocations, stress fractures, and overuse injuries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

Investigations

Investigation & Imaging Guidelines

Recommended Investigations Before Referral

To help expedite the patient's journey, we recommend the following investigations be arranged prior to referral where clinically appropriate:

Plain radiographs (AP & lateral views) of the affected joint
MRI scan for soft tissue pathology (rotator cuff, ligaments, cartilage)
Ultrasound for dynamic assessment of tendons and joints
CT scan for complex fractures and joint assessment
Nerve conduction studies for suspected nerve entrapment (e.g. carpal tunnel)

Imaging Requests

If you require advice on the most appropriate imaging for a specific clinical presentation, please contact the practice team and we will be happy to provide guidance. Patients should bring all relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI scans, CT scans) on CD or USB to their appointment.
